Numerous people have expressed a kind of grim satisfaction with my post yesterday (Many People Are Saying), suggesting that just maybe Donald Trump was recruited by the KGB as long ago as 1987. However, when I looked back at the link I supplied to the article in The Hill I cited in the post, it turned out that the reference to one of the most dramatic parts of it—that the KGB had given Trump the code name Krasnov— the name had disappeared. Go check it for yourself. Some further sleuthing (a quick Google search) revealed a reddit string from way back on February 21 asking, “What’s up with U.S. websites scrubbing trump [sic] as KGB agent ‘Krasnov?’” And see, this from Daily Kos on the same day.
So, indeed, what’s up?
Is there some nefarious explanation for the disappearing act of what could be a VERY BIG story, particularly in the wake of Friday’s on-screen backstabbing of our ally, Ukraine? I’d surely like to think so, but at the same time there’s no apparent evidence, and I don’t have time to search for it. I did want to highlight it for you, however, and I would love to hear what you think, or can find out.
I should also point out that while the code name is highly dramatic, it is hardly essential to the main point of the story—that our chief executive may have been a foreign agent, indeed an agent of one of our chief adversaries for almost 40 years. So, let’s not drop the ball there.
Oh, and if you think that maybe you or I were dreaming in yesterday’s post, there’s this from The Economic Times, published in India. Krasnov was still there, at least last time I checked.

I found plenty of references to Krasnov via a simple search. Not sure that there is much scrubbing, if any.
Meanwhile.. follow the money. tRump's ties and interactions with the Russians have been noted for quite some time.

...and many more.
Money laundering, loans from Russian oligarchs, that mysterious communication link between tRump Tower and a Russian endpoint (ya, remember that???). It is not unreasonable to assume that the Russians own tRump.
